OVERVIEW

We all have heard the phrase, “Social workers do it for the outcome and not the income.” I ask you today, why can’t it be both? There are creative ways to create positive outcomes for your population while creating a sustainable life and getting paid your worth. The goal of this session is to aid participants in increasing their knowledge in creating multiple streams of income with their LMSW or LCSW, understand how the difference in licenses impacts the ability to increase revenue, and the key to self-promotion in a social media world.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

As a result of attending this presentation, participants will be able to:

1. Increase knowledge on multiple areas for LMSWs/LCSWs to earn multiple streams of income;

2. Increase understanding of the difference between the two licensures and how this impacts the ability to increase income; and

3. Increase knowledge on the key to promoting self within the realm of the social media arena.

PRESENTER

Dr. DeAvila Ford, LCSW, a Memphis native, is a practicing Millennial Mental Health Therapist. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and her Master of Social Work from the University of Memphis. She obtained her Doctor of Behavioral Health at Freed-Hardeman University. Her research and clinical interests involve connecting mental health and the millennial generation. DeAvila has her own private practice, where she provides virtual mental health counseling services. She is also the author of two journals: The Therapeutic Journal and The Therapeutic Journal: Toxic Relationships Edition.
