Dr. Fiona Doherty Publishes Two Research Articles Discussing Climate Change

Dr. Fiona Doherty

Dr. Fiona Doherty recently published two research articles that discuss climate change in various aspects and the challenges that accompany it.

An article titled “Age-Friendly Strategies for a Warming World” published in the latest issue of Generations Today, examines how climate change uniquely affects older adults and highlights age-friendly strategies communities can use to reduce risk and promote health, safety, and resilience.

Additionally, Doherty published a research article titled “We’re Really Not so Different: Intergenerational Connection for Community Well-Being in a Changing Climate” in Issues in Mental Health Nursing. Her research shows that community well-being is increasingly strained by the intersecting challenges of social disconnectedness, generational divides, and climate change, and that by strengthening ties across generations, society can promote trust, empathy, and holistic wellness for current and future communities.
