A Message from SWORPS Director Daryl Chansuthus

Dr. Sissie Hadjiharalambous, affectionately known to all as “Sissie,” is retiring, and she is being succeeded in her role as Director of the Division of Applied Research and Evaluation by Jeff Vomund.  From training to evaluation to applied research, Sissie’s contributions over the last 25 years and the spirit with which she embraces all that she does have shaped our organization in immeasurable ways.

As Sissie prepares to retire on August 1, we celebrate her legacy and express our deepest gratitude for her service.

As we prepare for the next chapter at DARE, I would like to recognize the remarkable contributions of Sissie. Sissie’s unwavering passion, commitment, and pursuit of excellence have left an indelible mark on our agency. Her tireless dedication to advancing our mission has been nothing short of extraordinary.

At this time, I am also thrilled to announce that Jeff Vomund will be stepping into the role of Director of the Division of Applied Research and Evaluation (DARE). In his six months with us, Jeff has already made significant contributions to our agency. His expertise, fresh perspective, and collaborative spirit will undoubtedly propel us forward. Please join me in congratulating Jeff on this well-deserved appointment.

To ensure a seamless transition, Jeff Vomund will assume the responsibilities of DARE Director effective immediately, and Sissie will transition to the role of Executive Consultant. 

Please join me in expressing our heartfelt appreciation to Sissie and in welcoming Jeff as we embark on this new phase. Their combined expertise will undoubtedly shape our agency’s trajectory for years to come.
