Course Description

The majority of Americans are not saving enough for retirement. Social workers as a cohort face a set of challenges that can be addressed through proper planning. If you are early in your career, mid-career, or getting close to retirement, this session provides ten practical steps social workers can employ to prepare for retirement. This event is not approved for CEUs.

About the Presenter

george myers headshot

George earned degrees from MTSU (BS), UTCSW (MSSW – Macro) and the University of Alabama at Birmingham (MBA). Early in his career, he focused on managing mission-based organizations at the American Red Cross and the American Lung Association. After obtaining his MBA, he transitioned to the for-profit world developing wealth management software and services for over 1,000 banks, brokerages and registered investment advisors including JPMorgan, Merrill Lynch and Fidelity accounting for $2 trillion in assets. George closed out his career developing sustainable energy management solutions for large manufactures. George grew up in Sewanee, TN and lives in Birmingham with his wife, Amy, who is an immigration attorney.
