Sangmi Kim

Sangmi Kim is a graduate student at University of Tennessee pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Work. Sangmi Kim earned her master’s degree in social work from Ewha Women’s University (Ewha Womans University: Proper Noun) and acquired the top level of certificate of social work in South Korea in 2013. Her experience includes mental health support at the Social Welfare Center, and Korea-Japan children’s welfare research support at the Korean Institute for Health and Social Affairs. She conducted research on NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), Hikikomoris, and adolescent volunteering in Japan. She is interested in various approaches to building resilience in children and adolescents through family-based interventions, particularly in contexts involving
suicide, cyberbullying, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She is actively involved in research topics addressing social challenges and promoting clients’ resilience in culturally diverse environments.
