UTCSW Assistant Professor Dr. Andrea Joseph-McCatty recently received the Heart & Soul Award from the Faculty Senate, following a thoughtful nomination from Dean Lori Messinger. This well-deserved recognition celebrates her dedication and contributions.
The award is given at the beginning of every Senate meeting to a faculty member who contributes exceptionally to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment in their workplaces, classrooms, labs, departments, schools, colleges, and across UT’s broader social spaces. The Heart and Soul Award is part of the UT campus-wide healthy climate initiative and acknowledges faculty members who have made exceptional contributions to creating an inclusive, respectful, and empowering environment. Recipients of this award are recognized for fostering a sense of belonging among their peers and the broader university community, enhancing the culture and climate of the institution.
