Two new members of the Field Education Team recently started with UTCSW.
Prior to her new role as Coordinator of Field Education position at UTCSW, Nashville Campus, Allison Diehl worked as the Hope Program Coordinator for Catholic Charities of Tennessee, supervising a team that provided free trauma-focused counseling to children and adolescents. She was also a counselor in Catholic Charities’ Individual & Family Counseling program and a field instructor for UTCSW and Tennessee State University. Receiving an MSSW from UTCSW in spring 2017, Diehl found the field placement experience to be a transformative part of her social work education. Diehl earned a BA in Psychology from Duke University and an MSSW from UTCSW.
As a first-generation college student who started at community college before going on to a state University for undergrad and eventually graduate school, Tami Walker understands the privilege and impact of classroom and field education. Her role as an Associate Policy Analyst and Associate Researcher at Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago prepared her for her new role as Coordinator of Field Education at the Nashville campus. Walker cannot think of a better way to facilitate societal change than to educate, mentor, and inspire the next generation of social workers. Walker earned a BS in Human Services from Henderson State University and an MSSW from UTCSW.
