Kelly Martin Selected for CSWE Cohort

Kelly Brooke Martin, PhD

Dr. Kelly Martin was recently selected to be part of the CSWE cohort of Scholars in Global & Intercultural Competence and will receive a grant to support the implementation of the global and intercultural curricular resource in her social work courses.

The designation of CSWE Scholar in Global & Intercultural Competence is given on behalf of the Center for Diversity and Social & Economic Justice in collaboration with the Katherine A. Kendall Institute for International Social Work Education (Kendall Institute) and of the Council on Social Work Education in recognition of innovations in education to introduce social work students to a wealth of international perspectives on social problems and imaginative solutions in the context of cultural diversity and complex social and economic justice issues.

The curricular resource was developed by the Diversity Center and Words Without Borders Campus (WWB Campus) and uses literature from around the world to bring international content to the social work curriculum. Scholars will have the opportunity to join a community of educators integrating global and intercultural competence into social work education.
