New Learning Management System for Continuing Education Changes the Way Business is Being Done

Continuing Education at the UTCSW recently obtained and launched a new learning management system (LMS) known as CE21. This changes the way continuing ed participants purchase, access, and interact with the college’s continuing ed programming.

Assistant Director of Continuing Education Margaret McMillan is looking forward to integrating the new system into the program. “The CE21 LMS will provide a flexible framework for managing our continuing education offerings,” she explained. “Its customizable tools will improve the experience for our continuing ed participants by automating many of the manual processes currently in place. For example, users will no longer have to wait to receive their certificates, as these will now be automatically generated after the users have completed their event evaluations. It’s an exciting improvement, and we cannot wait to explore all the new features with our alumni and seminar attendees. If you haven’t done so already, log in to explore all the new features and sign up for a fall training.”

The scope of the new system is immense, with new features covering a multitude of areas:

Virtual/Hybrid Events
The platform will enhance the virtual experience at the annual eVOLve conference and will help bridge the in-person and hybrid audiences.

Digital Products
CE21’s platform supports a wide range of digital formats, including live webcasts, video replays, webinars, video downloads, text-based continuing education, and virtual conferences.

Live Events
The live events feature allows the creation of complex live events with agendas, badging, and certification, while efficiently tracking attendance.

Custom Certificates
The ability to create certificates is now available and allows for easily customized wording and layout, as well as timely delivery. Participants can also use the system to keep track of their continuing ed hours from multiple providers.

Evaluation
An important element to be used is the evaluation capability to collect valuable feedback on all programs. This new LMS can customize them to be either required or optional, and choose whether to display them before, during, or after the program concludes.

Reports
With almost 50 different default reports that can be customized, CE21 provides limitless ways to gather the reporting data needed. This will enhance our ability to collect accurate and timely data.

“The capabilities of this new system are truly amazing,” McMillan said. “This is an exciting new chapter for the continuing education program. I’m excited to continue providing high quality continuing education opportunities for social workers in Tennessee and beyond.”
