“Change” seemed to be the theme for Summer 2020. That was no exception for the college’s efforts related to outreach and engagement. Over the summer, we created the Outreach and Engagement Team. This team has two new communications staff and two new recruitment staff. Angela Thomas has joined the College as the new Marketing and Communications Manager. Natalie Ward is the Communications Specialist. Caitlin Moore is the new Recruiter based out of the Knoxville campus. And Becca Huppi has joined as the new Recruiter for the Nashville campus.

The charge of this team is to manage the continuum from recruitment of new students to “retention” of alumni, utilizing our best communications strategies along the way. While the COVID-19 pandemic has limited many aspects of our collective lives, the moment has also brought about new opportunities for accessing people in a virtual space. We plan to leverage those new opportunities, coupled with our new recruitment resources, to connect with prospective students like never before. We plan to utilize all of our social media channels in new, more engaging ways. We want to highlight the “network” part of “social network” and really work to build community in those virtual spaces. We will continue to adapt the CSW website to make the content easier to access and more visually appealing.

Finally, we will offer new ways for UTCSW alumni to interact with one another and with the college. Alumni… we want YOU! Join our UTCSW Alumni Facebook Group today – and invite your former classmates along. We will offer alumni-specific content within the group and provide a space for folks to share training resources, CEU opportunities, and job announcements. We might even have contests from time to time!
