Staff Spotlight- Macy Etter

Macy Etter, Recruiting Coordinator for the College of Social Work, is a longtime Vols fan and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree. As the Recruiting Coordinator, Etter recruits for the college’s BSSW, Online BSSW, Knoxville MSSW, and the PhD programs.

“I also oversee the UTCSW Student Ambassador Program, which consists of 14 of our current BSSW and MSSW Students,” said Etter. “I travel throughout East Tennessee and the country to share information about the college and our program offerings. I provide outreach to other colleges, universities, and workplaces as well.”

Etter grew up in East Tennessee and came from a long line of volunteer fans. “There is something very special about our university that you do not find at other schools,” stated Etter. “Our school spirit and students are like no other. Knoxville is such an awesome place to call home.”

Etter explained that one of her favorite memories from working at the University of Tennessee was Big Orange Preview Day in early October. “It was awesome to see how excited our prospective students were to be at the event and our student ambassadors did a great job at answering all of their questions,” she said.

Etter described that the skills she values most is the ability to connect with others and maintain relationships. She also acknowledged that this is a fast-paced role and requires organization to get the job done.

Etter is a crucial part of the Volunteer family and is committed to growing the spirit that lives here in Knoxville.
