Mission Statement

The Coalition of Black Social Workers exists to engage, connect, and empower Black social work students and professionals in the community, with the goal of increasing awareness about issues specific to the Black community and cultivating a network of support.

Membership

The Coalition of Black Social Workers (CBSW) is open to all individuals who hold or are currently pursuing a BSW/BSSW, MSW/MSSW, DSW, or PhD in social work. Membership is available at two levels: Full CBSW Membership and Friend of the CBSW Membership.

Registered student organizations operate independently of the University of Tennessee, with some receiving guidance and support from university departments. The university encourages student organizations to promote civil and social awareness, but it does not endorse their activities or viewpoints.
