Our programs
Bachelor of Science in Social Work
The Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) degree is designed to educate students on generalist social work practice that focuses on reciprocal relationships between persons and their environments.
Master of Science in Social Work
The Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) degree aims to educate students about culturally relevant and ethically sound social work practice within a changing global context that affects social work practice.
Doctoral Social Work
The College of Social Work offers two doctoral programs: the DSW, an accelerated online degree for working professionals focused on advanced clinical practice and the PhD, a research degree preparing students for academic and research careers. Both programs equip graduates with advanced skills to excel in their fields.
MSSW Certificate programs
The College of Social Work is pleased to offer specialized certificate programs to students enrolled in the MSSW program. Advanced elective courses and field settings combine to provide current students extensive knowledge and experience in various areas.

Continuing education
The UT College of Social Work offers a diverse selection of continuing education programs, events, and professional certifications. Our annual conference provides free CEU and networking opportunities for our alumni, students, and the community.
My favorite thing about the UTCSW is the sense of community at such a large university. I have met some of my best friends in the College of Social Work. Every single staff and faculty member would go out of their way to make every student feel supported and welcome here. UTCSW is truly what makes Rocky Top feel like home to me, and I am so grateful!
