Pamela L. Linden, PhD, LMSW, Interim Director of the University of Tennessee Center for Veterinary Social Work acknowledges the importance of the program. “By creating a dedicated space for collaboration, AVC Circle is fostering dialogue and innovation among veterinarians, social workers, animal welfare professionals, and community leaders. Together, we are building momentum toward a more equitable future for animals and the people who care for them.”

“It is amazing to see the passion of folks who are excited about improving access to care,” Lisa Wiborg, a veterinary social worker who coordinates the AVC Circle platform stated. “These are folks who live and breathe access to care. AVC Circle has allowed them to be brought into circles with others who share the passion, innovation, and commitment.”

Emilee Cramer, a third year UTCVM DVM student on the team lends a veterinary student’s perspective on access to care. “It’s reinvigorating to meet so many individuals who share the same dream for improving access to care. They give me hope and direction for my own future work as a veterinarian and advocate in this space. AVC Circle exposes people to such diverse topics related to access to care, such as financial options, pet insurance, animal ambulances, dental care, and forensic veterinary medicine.”

Membership in AVC Circle is free and open to anyone committed to improving access to veterinary care.
