Shanimol (Shani) Shajimon

Shanin Shajimon

Shani has been an active contributor to community development and education, particularly focused on supporting children from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds in India.

During her master’s program at St. Berchmans College, India, she undertook diverse research projects on topics such as Women Empowerment through Microenterprises, and Psychosocial Development of Psychiatric Patients through Vocational Rehabilitation. Her dedication to the field was recognized through the UBUNTU 2022 award, presented by the Students’ Social Work Association in India.

She served as a Guest Lecturer in the Department of Social Work at K.E College, actively contributed to student development, and coordinated key roles including the Department Association, Department Quality Assurance Cell, and Fieldwork/Block Placement.

Shani is focused on doing her PhD in child welfare with a special emphasis on mental health to foster their psychosocial development.
