Azalea is a senior online BSSW student from Nashville. She speaks English and Spanish and has a strong connection to her Mexican roots. Azalea is a first-generation college student and understands the struggle of transitioning though the educational system. She hopes to be of support to any first-generation student.
Azalea has an interest working with children and adolescents as well as with the immigrant communities in Nashville. She wants to continue her education with a master’s in social work and has many dreams she wants to pursue. Azalea believes that if she can be a positive influence on at least one person, that she can be successful. One of the main reasons she chose social work is because of her values.
Azalea transferred from Volunteer State Community college and strongly believes that not all college paths are created the same and that’s okay. She wants to be of service to her peers and help in any way she can! Azalea loves to read, go on outdoor walks, and attend music concerts.
