Sequoia is a BSSW student from Knoxville. She transferred from Pellissippi State Community College in August of 2023. Her favorite thing about UTK’s social work program is the accepting and open-minded peers and professors she has interacted with. She became passionate about social work during her time working at KARM Stores in high school. She is interested in working with the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities on a micro/mezzo level. Currently, she is working at Special Growers, a garden that provides job opportunities to young adults with disabilities. Outside of school, Sequoia loves to read, go hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, go to concerts, and spend time with her 4 cats.
