MSSW Hybrid Evening Classes to Launch on Nashville Campus

Dr. Mary Held

The UTCSW is trying something new to meet the needs of working students in Middle Tennessee. A new MSSW Hybrid Evening Class Program will launch on the Nashville campus in the fall of 2023. The program is geared toward working professionals who are seeking an MSSW degree. This new program will allow students a flexible schedule and the ability to earn their MSSW while working.

Dr. Mary Held, Assistant Dean for the Nashville campus, is excited about the new format. “We have been talking about evening classes for a while now as a way to meet the needs of working professionals,” she explained. “Balancing work, family, and school can be challenging, so we are looking forward to offering a program that will allow students, who otherwise could not attend classes during the day, an opportunity to continue their education at the College of Social Work. There is much work to be done in the social work field and we are pleased to continue to educate great leaders who can make a difference in the world.”

The hybrid class is both in-person and online. The classes will meet every other week, with in-between weeks being time for students to work on their own. The in-person portion of the class will be at the CSW Nashville campus and will take place in the evenings.
