According to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 Best Online Education Programs, social work comes in at the number two spot for UT’s most popular online bachelor’s degree based on the number of online degrees conferred.
Overall, UT was named number 10 for best online bachelor’s programs and rated particularly highly in three areas: Best Online Bachelor’s Programs, Best Online Undergraduate Business Programs, and Best Online Graduate Business Programs (non-MBA).
UT has been offering online bachelor’s degree programs since 2013-2014. Most online classes are recorded and archived, allowing students to access lecture material at their convenience.
The Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) program, launched in 2019 and designed specifically for transfer students, offers flexibility without compromising quality. This top-ranked, CSWE-accredited program prepares students for meaningful, generalist social work practice while allowing them to pursue their degrees from anywhere. With support from experienced faculty and a curriculum designed to accommodate a flexible schedule, students can achieve their academic and career goals on their own terms.
Additionally, the online BSSW program ensures that students receive hands-on experience through field placements and industry partnerships. These opportunities, combined with the college’s commitment to student success, prepare graduates to positively impact their communities.
