Katie is in the BSSW program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is also pursuing a minor in Religion and Nonprofit Leadership, where she enjoys exploring the many ways social work can make an impact.
One of Katie’s favorite things about being a Vol is the supportive campus culture, where students genuinely want to see one another succeed while encouraging each other to grow and excel. She especially recognizes this sense of community within the College of Social Work, which is one reason she chose to get involved.
Katie is still exploring whether she wants to pursue a career in micro or macro social work and is excited to continue learning about both fields as she progresses through the program. Outside of school, she enjoys volunteering with Young Life, participating in Greek life, playing and watching sports, and reading.
