Veterans and Military

The University of Tennessee, College of Social Work, actively recruits veterans to continue to serve beyond the battlefield. Military training has provided vital skills that are often needed in the social work profession. The versatility of our programs provides for leadership development in both the clinical practice arena and the organizational management or advocacy positions.

Trauma-Informed Certificate Program with a Military Focus

As part of our MSSW Program, we offer a Trauma Certificate with a Military Social Work focus, which allows students to study the effects of trauma on the brain and its neuro-scientific consequences. As a result, we are able to study and apply cutting-edge, evidence-based interventions and related best practices.
We also offer a postgraduate trauma certificate option.
